UNIT 2ª REPIRATORY SYSTEM
Breathing is one of the life processes of nutrition and takes place in the respiratory system. This is when we breathe in air and then breathe in out.
The air we breathe is made up of many ges. Some of gases are: nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and hydrogen.
There are different processes during breathing:
1) INHALING: when you inhale, your lung get bigger and air goes inside them.
2) EXCHANGING GASES: in your lungs, the oxigen from the air goes into your blood where it gets to all the parts in your body.
3) EXHALING: when you exhale, your lungs get smaller and the air and the carbon dioxide in your lungs go out.
Your respiratory system is made up of nostrils, a pharynx, a larynx, a windpipe, bronchi and lungs.
